Utah Valley · Salt Lake County & Beyond

A Utah County family photographer for the moments worth keeping.

AC Photo LLC runs affordable outdoor mini sessions across Utah Valley and Salt Lake County — from Thanksgiving Point to many of the most beautiful venues along the Wasatch Front. Families, couples, seniors, and anyone who wants portraits that actually get printed and hung on the wall.

Why AC Photo

Professional portraits, priced for real families.

Most portrait studios charge what they charge because a single photographer spends a whole afternoon with a single family. We do things differently. AC Photo specializes in stacked mini sessions — events where we hold a venue for a day and run back-to-back portrait slots with a team of three to four photographers working in parallel.

That model is the reason we can offer sessions starting around $100 — roughly a quarter of what a traditional Utah County family photographer charges — without cutting corners on the photos themselves. You get a professional shoot at a beautiful venue, edited images delivered through a private online gallery, and a booking process that takes about two minutes from start to finish. No back-and-forth emails, no wedding-level pricing, no surprises.

Convenience, affordability, and a seamless delivery experience — that's what we're built for. Browse the gallery to see what recent sessions look like, or check the main booking page for upcoming events.

What We Shoot

One studio. Every chapter.

Families are at the heart of what we do, but the best portrait studios grow with you. Whichever season of life you're in, we've probably shot it — and we'd love to shoot yours.

01

Family Portraits

Parents, kids, grandparents, cousins — the whole crew. Our Utah County family photo sessions are designed to be playful and low-pressure, so even reluctant teenagers and wiggly toddlers come home happy. Great for annual updates, holiday cards, and milestone years.

02

Engagement Sessions

Newly engaged? A Utah County engagement photographer should make you feel like yourselves, not models. We'll wander golden-hour paths at Thanksgiving Point or another gorgeous Utah Valley venue and come away with images for save-the-dates, signs, and framed keepsakes.

03

Senior & Individual Portraits

Senior year photos, personal headshots, branding images, or just a really good portrait of yourself — we shoot individuals all the time. Collaborative, unhurried, and styled to match whatever version of yourself you want to remember. Yearbook-ready and framed-wall-ready.

04

Couples & Anniversaries

Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, refreshing your wedding photos a few years in, or finally getting around to taking portraits together — we love couples sessions. It's just the two of you, and that's exactly how it should be.

Where We Work

Thanksgiving Point and many of Utah's most beautiful venues.

Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is one of our most frequent locations — the tulip gardens in spring, the rose paths in summer, the golden maples in fall, and crisp evergreen backdrops in winter make it one of the most photogenic properties in the state. But it's far from the only place we shoot.

Across the year we run mini session events at venues throughout Utah Valley and Salt Lake County — gardens, orchards, historic sites, scenic overlooks, and private estates. For custom private sessions we travel even further. Wherever the light is good and the backdrop fits the vibe, we'll meet you there.

Year-Round Sessions

Every season has its best light.

One of the best things about being an outdoor-based portrait studio in Utah is that the backdrop changes four times a year — and each version is worth photographing.

Spring

Tulip fields and blossoming trees at Thanksgiving Point. Soft, forgiving light and that unmistakable "new beginning" feeling. Our most-requested season for family portraits and engagements.

Summer

Long golden hours, lush greenery, and extended evening light that stretches well past dinner. Perfect for seniors and family sessions that want warm, sun-drenched portraits.

Fall

The Wasatch doesn't mess around in October. Fiery maples, amber cottonwoods, and cool air that makes everyone look their best. The best season for couples and cozy, sweater-weather family shoots.

Winter

Clean, crisp light, fresh snowfall, and quiet evergreen locations. Winter portraits are underrated — there's no crowd, the light is beautiful, and the images feel distinctly timeless.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often.

How much does a family photo session in Utah cost?
Our mini session events typically start around $100, and we frequently offer discounts — early bird pricing, referral credits, and corporate perks all stack. Private full-length sessions start at $250 and vary based on location, duration, and the number of delivered images. We're able to keep mini session pricing this accessible because of our stacked event model: multiple photographers running back-to-back slots at a single venue.
Where do you hold sessions?
Our mini sessions run at beautiful venues across Utah Valley and Salt Lake County, with Thanksgiving Point in Lehi as one of our most frequent locations. We also get up into the mountains at places like Tibble Fork Reservoir. For private sessions we travel throughout Utah County and Salt Lake County including Draper — Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Orem, Provo, Highland, Alpine, Saratoga Springs, and surrounding areas.
What should my family wear for outdoor portraits?
Coordinate rather than match. Choose a palette of two or three complementary tones, avoid bold logos and busy patterns, and dress for the weather and ground conditions. Our Session Prep Guide walks through everything in detail.
When is the best time of year for family photos in Utah & Salt Lake County?
Every season has its charm. Spring brings tulip blooms at Thanksgiving Point, summer offers lush greenery and long golden hours, fall delivers dramatic Wasatch color, and winter provides crisp, clean light and evergreen backdrops. We run sessions year-round and can help you pick the season that fits the vibe you're after.
Do you photograph things other than families?
Yes — regularly. In addition to family portraits, we shoot engagements, senior portraits, couples and anniversary sessions, individual headshots, and personal branding photos. Our mini session dates can be booked for any of these. If you're not sure what you need, just reach out.
How soon will I receive my photos?
Edited images are delivered through a private online gallery shortly after your session. Mini session turnaround times are posted on each event's booking page. Most are delivered within 2–3 days.
